Our Sponsored Children
The church currently sponsors two children Rani and Exilda.
We work with World vision to sponsor Rani and her Community. Rani lives in Nawada India. She is seven years old, she lives with her mum and dad and one sister. World vision is working in the Nawada community to increase access to safe clean drinking water, to help reduce disease and increase education. When World vision first got involved with this community adult literacy was only 47% and almost 60% of children under three were under weight, with the nearest health facilities as far as 10km away. They are working towards establishing learning centres and other education facilities as well as vocational training for youth. Along with education around health and schooling they are also working towards building stable economic opportunities, mostly through agriculture so that locals don’t have to move to find employment.
We work with Child Fund to support Exilda and her community in Luangwa, Zambia. She is seven years old and lives with her mum and dad and brothers and sisters. Most of the residents in Zambia live in mud huts. Exilda’s family like most others rely on peasant farming. Child mortality and malnutrition are a big issue in Luangwa, as many people only have acces to water from the Luangwa river and shallow wells. Chikd Fund is working towards installing many boreholes and providing home chlorination kits and education around safe clean water practices. many families cannot afford to send their children to school and Child fund is working towards establishing more schools and learning centres to make education more esily accessible. Around 60% of the families in this area do not make enough money to support themselves. Child Fund is working with the community to create economic opportunities through goat breeding programmes and drought resistant farming.
